Second state DJ with 'from 1788' under title. The last significant guide produced under the Writers' project due to WWII . DJ spine sunned. Small open tears to DJ and to front DJ flap. Bookseller sticker in front endpaper. Rear hinge started.

9111. Wpa [Federal Writers' Project]: Cape Cod Pilot    A Loquacious Guide. Modern Pilgrim Press, Provincetown, Mass., 1937.  8vo. 403pp. VG+/VG+  Jeremiah Diggs is the pen name of Josef Berger, who, contrary to the claim on the DJ flap, wrote the book singlehandedly and recieved a royalty, the only time in the program this happened. Charming anecdotes about the Cape Cod area, some of which are even true. Originally distributed by the Modern Pilgrim press, then taken over by Viking.  Very light wear to DJ with one small open tear.  $275.
