	2.	Dickens, Charles  HANDWRITTEN LETTER, SIGNED, MATTED AND PROFESSIONALLY FRAMED 1866 Ephemera Near Fine Written by Dickens, in blue ink, on his Gad's Hill Place stationery. Addressed to "My Dear Dixon". Body of letter consists of thirteen lines: "I send you the [? ] gift pounds (£ 50) being the amount this day found at [? ] credit. Many thanks for your kind offer as to the United States. But I will not inflict a letter upon you, for I know most feelingly what boredom would ensue, making your holiday a horror. My respects to the chief of the mormons [sic] and to as many hundreds of his young family as you may fall in with. Don't forget Mrs. Dixon at home. Faithfully yours always, Charles Dickens. " The letter includes a steelplate engraving picturing the writer seated, in a pensive mood. Matted in blue and professionally framed.
